Pre-Conference Tour - San Francisco Architecture Walking Tour

The International Conference on the Constructed Environment is pleased to offer Pre-Conference Tour.

About the Tour

This tour is a 2.5 hour walking tour which includes not only an introduction to some of San Francisco's most famous downtown buildings, but you will also discover hard to find rooftop gardens, unique open spaces, and historic landmarks.

From the guide: "I personally feel that the best way to understand a city history is through its buildings and urban plan. The San Francisco Architecture Walking Tour will be one of the most fascinating and original tours you've ever taken."

The tour will begin at the Galleria Park Hotel lobby located at 191 Sutter Street (between Kearny and Montgomery Street), San Francisco, CA. Please note that interested delegates will need to find their own transportation to and from the starting point, which is one block from the Montgomery Bart Station. Helpful Tips

Be sure to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the tour. Arriving early will allow you time to check-in, use the hotel restrooms (no restroom stops on the walk) and relax in the lobby before the start of the tour.

Wear comfortable shoes and dress warmly. Note that although the tour covers only about 4 blocks of the Financial District, you will do a great deal of standing during the discussions so it is best to dress warmly (San Francisco Weather can change in minutes) and wear comfortable shoes. It is also best to not bring heavy bags on the tour.

Photography by camera and cell phone is allowed except in some bank lobbies and public spaces. Please silence all cell phones for the duration of the tour.

Dinner can be booked and paid for at the time of registration. The dinner must be paid in full to be considered confirmed. Space is limited and reservations will be made in the order they are received. The conference dinner usually fills up quickly, so be sure to book early!
