Johann Sagan

Johann (Hans) Sagan, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Design and Master Program Coordinator at the Institute of Design at the Kunst-Musikk-Design faculty, University of Bergen, Norway. He holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of California – Berkeley, and degrees in communication studies and cultural studies from the University of North Carolina and the University of Minnesota. He has earlier taught architecture, urbanism, and design history and theory at UC-Berkeley, San Francisco State University, and the Academy of Art University. His research critically investigates social and economic contexts of design, interrogating the built environment at a variety of scales.
