It is now widely agreed that many prevailing human relationships with the natural environment are unsustainable. In the context of made environments in their widest sense, the conference will examine how a range of human/nature relations might be recalibrated to the long-term benefit of both people and the planet they inhabit.
This conference will ask the questions: How can the relationship between human and nature be designed? How can humans construct, manipulate and organize nature? What is the future of this relationship? How do social relationships between human change the relationship to, and understanding of, nature? How do competing human interests impact nature?
The Thirteenth International Conference on The Constructed Environment featured plenary sessions by some of the world's leading thinkers and innovators in the field.
