Architect and Design Tutor at the Architectural Association School of Architecture and the School of Architecture, University of Navarra. He’s PhD by the Architectural Association where he previously studied a masters on History and Critical Thinking in Architecture. In 2012, he obtained his degree on Architecture by the University of Navarra, Spain. His research focuses on colonial exchanges between North and West Africa with Europe, lecturing and publishing on the topic. His forthcoming Exile on Main St (AA Publications, 2024) deals with the appropriation of the Sahara in Modern Architecture. Alvaro was practicing at Castanon Associates and has collaborated through design and theory in offices in London, Nigeria, Spain and New York.
